FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
